Treatments and Therapies
Treatments for Children
Massage can be adapted for all ages. Gentle soothing games and exercises for infants and stories for toddlers and older children.
Any story can be drawn on a child (or parent's) back using different strokes to invoke sleepiness or relaxed alertness according to the time of day.
These are wonderful for all ages and I always teach the child to massage mummy and daddy too. Family dynamics can change wonderfully with these simple techniques as whole families can start to massage and relax each other.
Massage in Schools
Developed by 2 ladies in Sweden, massage is now taught in many schools across the UK. Studies show that children become calmer, more confident and benefit from greater self esteem and higher concentration levels.
Baby Reflex
As parents, you can learn a simple reflexology routine that can help with bonding, relaxation and all sorts of ailments before you reach for the paracetamol. Taught 1 to 1 or in very small groups.
Baby Massage
Learn a simple routine that's fun and helps with lots of complaints for colic to insomnia! Yours too! I teach to you and your partner, not in classes. Most parents just have one or 2 sessions then are confident to use the techniques at home.
"I have a 4 year old boy, who typically has lots of energy to burn. I recently found a way to
slow him down at bedtime, because normally he still has energy left even at the end of the day .I was introduced to a massage technique by Rosemary which involves simulating different types of weather using your hands on the childs back, my son now insists on me massaging him at bedtime, which he finds very relaxing and seems to help him to sleep better, which is great when you have had a hard day at work.
I would highly recommend the technique as a fun way of introducing massage to children."
