My Thermal Breast Screening - exciting technology!
My grandmother had breast cancer twice and then my sister so statistically I am a very poor risk. So, I decided to get myself checked out as best I can and will continue to do so regularly.
I was told about thermal imaging a friend who has a breast scan every year as part of her health routine. The technology is said to be able to detect the seeds of cancer up to 8 years before it can be detected on a mammogram. What the imaging sees is the start of new blood circulation that will feed a growth. For me, if I knew something was developing in my body, I can take steps to prevent it getting a grip. There is plenty of information now about what causes cancer so we can take responsiblity for our own health and do all we can to prevent problems before they occur.
I went to Cambridge to see Wendy and Bill Bradford who are the trainers for Meditherm in Europe. They take the photographs then email them to a panel of doctors who is a few hours send you a report of their findings. They don't just do breast screening but can photograph any part of the body to help diagnose causes of pain.
