Your mind can heal your body
It's a fascinatint read. He writes of a man with several broken bones whose doctor told him he'd have 70% mobility back in 5 years. Determined gentleman replied that he was intending to run in the Glasgow marathon the following year and the doctor bet him £1000 that he wouldn't!
The patient set to work in his hospital bed, visualising a team of construction workers setting up scaffolding around his shattered bones, welding them back together and polishing them until they were perfect again. The radiographer commented that the bones looked as if they had been polished on the xrays! The gentleman did run the Glasgow marathon the next year and his doctor gave him £1000 for his charity!
This fascinating book contains lots of research about the effects of visualisation, belief and positive thinking on the body.
